Queensland police are searching for suspects after a vehicle opened fire outside a licensed premises in Loganholme, a suburb south of Brisbane. Officers responded to calls at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday regarding shots fired from a car. The vehicle was seen departing the scene before it stopped moving.

Four individuals sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to a hospital for assessment. Police deputy commander Chris Stream described the scene as confronting in an interview with the Today show. He confirmed that multiple people were injured by the gunfire.

The incident occurred at Fitzys Loganholme on Bryants Road. The venue was hosting the Logan City Titles Fight Night. The event was scheduled to take place on Saturday evening. It was organized to showcase local boxing talent and support a community charity.

Jon Raven, the mayor of Logan, said the shooting sent a shockwave through the area. He told the Today show that residents were frightened by the violence. Raven noted that he had previously attended similar nights and viewed them as family-friendly environments with many children present.

Raven stated that the organiser aimed to steer young people away from violence through boxing. He said the organiser would be devastated because the event was designed to empower and reconnect youth. Raven added that the incident was the opposite of what the organiser intended for the community.

Logan City Titles posted a statement on social media on Sunday morning. The organisers described the event as a community gathering that highlighted hard work and local skills. They stated that such incidents have no place in the boxing community or the wider public space.

Police said the offenders remain at large. They indicated there was no ongoing threat to the public. Officers urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
