Anthony Lloyd has been on the loose since Friday afternoon, forcing London police to expand their search across the capital and into six surrounding counties. The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Saturday that the 38-year-old man escaped from a medical facility in Lewisham shortly after 4:00 p.m.

Officers stated that Lloyd forced his way out of the health unit. He was last seen at approximately 4:10 p.m. heading in the direction of Catford. Police described him as white, with a medium build and short dark hair, standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall. At the time of his escape, he was wearing a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers.

Lloyd was originally convicted in 2025 for causing actual bodily harm. The crime occurred in Nottinghamshire and involved three emergency services workers. He received a 12-month prison sentence and was transferred to the Lewisham medical facility in September. His release from custody has prompted a coordinated response involving multiple regional police forces.

Detective Superintendent Melanie Pressley, who leads the investigation, described Lloyd as a risk to both himself and the public. She instructed the public not to approach him if they spot him. Pressley asked anyone with information, regardless of how minor it may seem, to contact police urgently. She emphasized that officers are conducting various inquiries to locate and return him to custody.

Police believe Lloyd could be anywhere in London but have identified links to several other areas. They are actively searching in Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Merseyside. The force has requested that witnesses call 999 and quote the reference CAD4739/23Oct if they have details about his whereabouts.

The search is ongoing as of Saturday. Police continue to coordinate efforts across the identified regions to find the fugitive.
